Civil and Administrative Litigation
To provide complete services for our clients' needs, LLW has attracted and developed attorneys skilled in litigation, appellate law, and mediation. When litigation is necessary, we do not hesitate to take matters before Florida's state, federal and administrative courts. Our attorneys have extensive experience before all levels of Florida and federal trial courts and administrative tribunals including the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings. Representation often involves challenges to or defense of environmental permits, land use and zoning decisions, as well as licensing and state procurement and purchasing matters. Our attorneys also handle a variety of commercial litigation in state and federal court, including construction contracts, non-competition agreements, foreclosures, contract and real estate title, and related disputes.
Appeals
Trial lawyers frequently refer appeals to LLW, and often engage us to seek a fresh perspective on a case. We use state-of-the-art technology and first-rate paralegals to research, compile, and analyze the record. This combination allows us to produce high-quality legal work in a cost-effective manner.
Our attorneys also have extensive experience handling appeals before the five State District Courts of Appeals, the Florida Supreme Court, and the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the 11th Circuit Court. Matters typically handled include appeals of final decisions by trial courts and administrative law judges, and appeals of local zoning and permitting decisions.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
LLW also boasts great success in resolving disputes through mediation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, and employs attorneys who serve as mediators in complex litigation. Several of our attorneys are certified mediators, and have also served as special masters on local government enforcement matters.
