PRACTICE AREAS
Land Use Law
LLW attorneys have extensive experience with Florida's Growth Management Act; Development of Regional Impact; federal, state and local comprehensive plans; and local development codes. LLW obtains land development approvals for landowners, homebuilders, commercial developers, and local governments. We obtain approvals for seaport and airport projects, linear infrastructure, and Developments of Regional Impact. We counsel both private and public clients on the complex constitutional and statutory relationships among different levels of government with jurisdiction over land use planning and regulation. We also litigate land use development issues at all levels of government and every forum available.
We advise many local governments in the preparation of comprehensive plans and land development regulations, assist in processing such plans for approval by the Department of Community Affairs, and regularly represent our clients on land use issues before the Florida Legislature.
Our attorneys often participate on development teams, coordinating various professionals such as engineers, architects, land planners, and environmental scientists in guiding a project through the entitlement, design, approval and construction process.
