F. Joseph Ullo, Jr., has been elected to serve as the Vice President of the Florida Brownfields Association for the 2009-2010 term. The announcement was made this week at Florida’s 12th Annual Statewide Brownfields Conference held in Tampa, Florida.

“I am excited to be in a leadership role in an organization that makes a positive difference in our communities.” said Joseph Ullo.  “Having served on the Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee in the past, I have seen firsthand what our association can do to improve Florida.  The Florida Brownfields Association has been instrumental in helping private developers and local governments in rehabilitating properties with real or perceived environmental conditions.”

The Florida Brownfields Association (FBA) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to assisting in the advancement and implementation of the Florida and National Brownfields Redevelopment Programs.  Members of FBA are a group of environmental professionals and specialists who share a common interest in redeveloping and revitalizing underutilized properties in Florida.  FBA works in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to clean up contaminated properties and revitalize areas that have been subject to economic decline. 

Joseph Ullo practices in environmental and land use law.  He is also a registered professional engineer in Florida.  Prior to entering law, he was a consultant practicing in the field of water resources and hazardous waste management.  In addition to being a member of the Florida Brownfields Association, Joseph is a member of the Northeast Florida Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society and the First Coast Manufacturing Association.
