Katherine L. Hupp Awarded the 2024 Stephens/Register Memorial Award
LLW attorney Katherine L. Hupp received the 2024 Stephens/Register Memorial Award from the Environmental and Land Use Law Section (ELULS) of the Florida Bar. The award recognizes a non-officer member of the ELULS Executive Council who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision for the Section.
In her role on the ELULS Executive Council, Katherine has made significant contributions as Co-Chair of the Social Media, Website and Technology Committee. Her work to establish the Section’s new online communication platform, “Discourse,” has been instrumental in advancing and enhancing the Section’s outreach and communication strategies. In addition to ELULS, Katherine is a member of the Administrative Law, Appellate Practice, and Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar
Katherine, a co-author on the pivotal discussions surrounding Florida’s 404 Program, has established herself as an industry thought-leader on the subject, as evidenced by her influential contributions to the analysis and commentary on the program’s recent vacatur.
Katherine is also an active member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, where she serves as Co-Chair of the Oceans and Coasts Committee.
The Stephens/Register Memorial Award is named in honor of two trailblazers in Florida environmental law, W. Daniel Stephens, III and William M. Register, and it is presented to individuals who have exemplified the spirit of leadership and commitment to the Section’s mission. Katherine’s recognition is a well-deserved acknowledgment of her tireless efforts and impactful service.
