If you purchase land in Florida, it depends on what kind of environmental issues you may have on that property. You may need to get environmental permits from your local water management district or the state's department of environmental protection. You also will need land use approvals of some sort, whether it's just a basic site plan approval from your city or county or if you plan to do something that may not be consistent with existing zoning and comprehensive plan you may need amendments to those.
