Administrative Law Judge Andrew Manko Issues Proposed Order in Department of Education Case

April 30, 2021

This past week, the Division of Administrative Hearings Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Andrew Manko issued his proposed order recommending that the Department of Education exempt Dolores Givens from disqualification to participate in the state’s scholarship program. If the Department grants the exemption, Butterfly Village Kids College, which is owned and operated by Ms. Givens, will be eligible to participate in the state’s scholarship program allowing pre-school and special needs children to attend the school.  LLW’s Richard Green represented Ms. Givens at the final hearing held in February.  It is now in the hands of the Department of Education to accept the ALJ’s recommendation or to issue a denial notwithstanding the ALJ’s recommendation.  Stay tuned for more updates.
