The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) has initiated rule development to adopt rules to establish procedures for providing loans to local governments or water supply entities for the development and construction of water storage facilities. FDEP is also hosting a workshop for public comments on proposed revisions to Florida’s State Implementation Plan under the Clean Air Act.  The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is holding a workshop to present draft species conservation measures and permitting guidelines for the Big Cypress Fox Squirrel, the Florida Pine Snake, Barbour’s map turtle, Black Creek Crayfish, Blackmouth Shiner, Saltmarsh Topminnow, and Florida Burrowing Owl. Finally, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has published a Notice of Proposed Rule regarding changes to the regulation of beekeeping.

    Purpose: Section 373.475, F.S., requires the Department to adopt rules to establish procedures for providing loans to local governments or water supply entities for the development and construction of water storage facilities.

  • Notice of Meeting/Workshop Hearing
    Subject: Pursuant to 40 CFR 51.102, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announces a public hearing and opportunity to offer comments on a proposed revision to Florida’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) under the Clean Air Act. This SIP revision consists of a plan that will ensure the attainment and maintenance of the 2010 revised Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) in Polk County. Florida’s SIP amendment consists of specific conditions from two air construction permits for two facilities, Mosaic New Wales and Mosaic Bartow, as they pertain to emissions of SO2.

    Subject: The Commission will present Draft Species Conservation Measures and Permitting Guidelines for the Big Cypress Fox Squirrel, the Florida Pine snake, Barbour’s map turtle, Black Creek Crayfish, Blackmouth Shiner, Saltmarsh Topminnow, and Florida Burrowing Owl.     Purpose: This proposed rule is being developed because the Honey Bee Technical Council met and provided feedback to the department wherein Florida’s beekeepers are requesting clarification to portions of the department’s regulatory authority.
