Best Lawyers^®, the oldest and most respected guide to the legal profession, released the 2021 Edition of Southern Florida’s Best Lawyers on November 20, 2020. The stand-alone publication, using information excerpted from the 2021 Editions of The Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, highlights more than 2,460 lawyers recognized for their top legal talent, along with 156 “Lawyer of the Year” recipients from South Florida. Additionally, the newly designed publication features notable local news and profiles of firms and individuals across the region.

South Florida’s Best Lawyers will be mailed to recognized lawyers from the South Florida area, in addition to subscribers of the Miami Herald, The Palm Beach Post, and The Wall Street Journal (in South Florida). The digital publication is available in full at www.bestlawyers.com.

Also included in the publication is information on the award methodology process, the Best Lawyers metro areas map for South Florida, and a brief company overview.

For research purposes, smaller and more rural cities located within a reasonable distance to larger cities are combined into single geographical regions called “metro areas” to help collect as much feedback and data as possible. “Lawyer of the Year” awards are designated through these metro area distinctions. South Florida, as defined by Best Lawyers, is composed of four metro areas: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, and West Palm Beach.

“Lawyer of the Year” honorees are based on extremely high overall feedback within specific practice areas and metropolitan regions. South Florida’s Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” section includes a feature on Andrew B. Yaffa, partner at Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen, who was named the 2021 Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs “Lawyer of the Year” in Miami. Yaffa was previously recognized as the Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs “Lawyer of the Year” in Miami in 2016 and 2019.
