The most common examples would be utilization of ad valorem tax. There are also districts that utilize non-ad valorem assessments. Others use tax increment financing. There are other examples where tolls, different user fees, some are light and exist solely on federal or state government grants. In some there are a number of revenue funding sources for special districts in Florida, but I would say the primary ones are ad valorem taxation and non-ad valorem assessments.
