Is my neighbor allowed to block my water view with his boat and dock?
Video Transcript
In Florida we have a lot of waterfront property owners who treasure their view of whether it's the ocean or the inter-coastal or a bay or a water body. They pay a price to have that waterfront view. One of the rights that the waterfront property owner has, is the right to what they call a relatively unobstructed view of the channel. This does not give the waterfront property owner the right to a free open panoramic view of the water, but your neighbor is not entitled to completely block or unreasonably obstruct that right of view. Your neighbor just like you, have the right to make reasonable use of their waterfront property in a way that gains them access to the water, without unreasonably impairing your rights of access and water view.
